Cuba!

During our stay in Mexico we went to Cuba for one week. Our tourist visas were about to expire so we did a little trip to leave the country :). We went to Varadero for 3 days and then to Havana for another 3 days. Cuba was very interesting and had its beautiful parts but quite a contrast to the mexican lifestyle. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Varadero

Varadero is a tourist city by the coast about 2 hours from La Habana on the northern side of the island. There are mostly all-inclusive resorts and tourist shops. The waters are clear turquoise and the sand is white a very nice place to relax on.
The "taxi" we took from Havana to Varadero was a Chevrolet from 1948 :).

Our hosts had a very colorful bird!

Interesting truck/bus solution.

La Habana

In La Habana we took a walk on the malecón to the center and the old town. We also visited the museum of the revolution and took a tour on the hop-on-hop-off buses.
We had nice breakfast on the balcony every morning at this "casa" we stayed at in Havana

I loved all the colorful houses that suddenly could appear between all the shabby facades

El Capitiolio Nacional

La Bodeguita del Medio! One of our favorite cuban bars to go to when we were in Mexico. This is the original one.

Of course we put our signatures on the wall.
